After a disaster, CERT volunteers will likely encounter a natural gas or electric emergency. This course will teach you scene safety and what steps to take when you are faced with this type of emergency.
This course will be presented by PG&E representative Kevin Conant, Sr. Public Safety Specialist.
In this course you will learn the following:
- Overviews of PG&E’s gas and electrical infrastructures
- Properties of natural gas
- Natural gas emergency response considerations, plans and checklists
- Hazard identification and mitigation
- Do's & Don'ts when you encounter electric power lines
This training class is open to individuals who live or work within the communities served by Santa Clara County Fire Department: Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Monte Sereno, Saratoga and the unincorporated surrounding areas.
